North Carolina

2009 North Carolina Immunization Conference The 2009 conference, Immunizations: Real World, North Carolina, was held from August 12 - 14 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Participants had the opportunity to earn continuing education credits by attending presentations on a variety of immunization topics such as best practices for immunization administration, dealing with parental concerns, and operating off-site clinics. North Carolina Immunization Registry Training Modules Continuing education credits are available for attending periodic NCIR training sessions. Credit is not available for viewing these materials online. However, these materials serve as an excellent resource for anyone who uses the NCIR in their practice.

Epidemiology & Prevention of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases 2009. This four-part series provides the most current information available in the constantly changing field of immunization. It is an annual offering providing a comprehensive overview on immunization. Each of the four sessions is three hours in duration and can be viewed independently for CE credit. There are 4 parts in this series and each part is offered in either DVD or Web on Demand format.

Session 1 discusses principles of vaccination, general recommendations on immunization, vaccine administration and storage and handling principles. It also has a segment on vaccine safety.

Essentials of Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention: A Training Series for Coordinators and Case Managers 2008. This series of netconferences is designed for perinatal hepatitis B prevention coordinators and case workers in state and local health departments. IIS are confidential, computerized information systems that collect vaccination data about children.
